
Petros Pizanias
Born in Athens in 1947, the author pursued undergraduate studies from 1972 to 1980 at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Modern Economic and Social History. During the same period, they attended courses in Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Paris VIII. From 1981 to 1984, they completed a doctoral dissertation in Modern Greek Economic and Social History at EHESS, focusing on "Wages and Incomes in Greece 1841 - 1923." Since December 1986, they have been teaching courses related to the history of the Greek State, having been elected as a Lecturer in the Department of History at the Ionian University. In August 1989, they were elected as an Assistant Professor in the same department. In June 1993, they were promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of History at the Ionian University. By December 1998, they were appointed as a Full Professor in the same department. Since 1998, they have been directing the postgraduate program "History and Documentation on Contemporary Issues" in the Department of History, which evolved in 2008 into "Historical Research, Teaching, and New Technologies" in collaboration with the Department of Informatics.
