Ageliki Ralli

Angeliki Ralli is a professor of linguistics in the Department of Philology at the University of Patras. She has served as a visiting professor at universities in Amsterdam, Tilburg, Torino, Montreal (University of Montreal, McGill, UQAM), Toronto (UoT), Vancouver (SFU), and Columbus (Ohio State University) at various times. She completed her specialized studies in linguistics at the University of Montreal (Bachelor, Master, Ph.D.). During her studies, she was the top scholarship recipient of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the local government of Quebec (1978-1983). In 1999, she received the "Faculty Enrichment Award" from the Canadian government. She is fluent in three foreign languages (English, French, Italian) and has knowledge of Spanish, German, and Russian. She is a permanent co-organizer of the "Mediterranean Morphology Meeting" (1997, '99, 2001, '03, '05) and "Modern Greek Dialects and Linguistic Theory" (2000, '04) conferences, has organized the "Thermi International Summer School in Linguistics" (1999), and actively participates in international scientific meetings related to her interests. Her research focuses on morphology, the relationship between morphology and syntax and phonology, the development of morphological processors (computational linguistics), the mental lexicon, and the morphophonology of Modern Greek dialects. She has led or is leading Greek and European research projects and has collaborated or is collaborating with international programs of Greek and foreign universities. She is a reviewer for international journals and is on the editorial board of the "Journal of Greek Linguistics," "Italian Journal of Linguistics," "Advances in Language Studies," "International Journal of Computational Intelligence," as well as the European Network for Linguistic Morphology (ENLM). She has more than 80 extensive publications, several of which are in well-known international journals in the field of linguistics.
