Giannis Karagiannakis

Giannis Karagiannakis is a visiting professor at the University of Malta, a lecturer at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Psychological Sciences Research at the Catholic University of Leuven. His research focuses on Mathematical Learning Difficulties (MLD), specifically investigating the nature (specific or general cognitive domain) of these difficulties and developing evidence-based intervention strategies for students aged 8-18. He has participated in European research projects on Learning Difficulties: DYSSpeLD (2010-2012), EUPALT (2011-2013), and EUSpLD (2014-2017). His work has been published in peer-reviewed international research journals and presented at numerous international conferences, where he has often been invited as a keynote speaker. He has extensive experience in assessing students with MLD and designing interventions, and he has trained thousands of specialists and educators worldwide. He is the scientific director of the Mathematics department and the model school for children with learning difficulties, Eureka Leuven School in Belgium. Additionally, he is a board member and coordinator of the academic committee of the European Dyslexia Association.
