THanasis Mparlagiannis

Thanasis Barlagiannis was born in Athens in 1981. He studied history at the University of Athens and completed his postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris). He holds a European Doctorate in History and Cultures, specializing in modern Greek history. His research interests include the history of Greek public health and scientific medical exchanges between France and Greece during the 19th century. He has lectured at universities in Paris and Marseille on topics such as Greek public health, the history of policing, the formation of the Greek state, and cholera epidemics in Greece. He is currently engaged as a postdoctoral researcher in the medical history of the Greek Revolution while also working as a private educator. Additionally, he is a member of the TELEMMe research center, AMU-CNRS (Marseille, France).
