CHristos Malevitsis

Christos Malevitsis was born in Kaloskopi, Parnassida, in 1927. He studied economics, sociology, and philosophy in Athens, The Hague, and Geneva. He worked for the United Nations Economic Commission, in economic ministries, and at the National Statistical Service. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Philosophical Society, the National Theatre, and the National Society of Greek Writers, and was a regular contributor to magazines such as "Evthyni," "Nea Estia," "Nea Synora," "Lotos," among others. He made his literary debut in 1964 with a contribution to the magazine "Epoches." Influenced by existentialism, he primarily focused on philosophical essays, while also translating some of the most significant philosophical books of the 20th century, including works by Berdiaeff, Heidegger, Jaspers, Tillich, Bochenski, Wahl, and others. He passed away in Athens in 1997. His work has been made available in digital form by the Friends of Christos Malevitsis Association and the Treasury of the Greek Language.
