THeodoros CH. Stathis

Theodoros Stathis, Ph.D. from Columbia University in New York, is the President of the Mediterranean Studies Foundation and a Management Consultant at the National Bank. He has taught as an Assistant Professor at Manhattan College in New York and at New York University, where he also worked as a Researcher. He served as a Specialist Scientist and later as an Appointed Lecturer at the University of Patras and as a Visiting Professor at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. He held the position of CEO at N.B.G. Bancassurance of the National Bank Group, as well as President and CEO of Ethniki Kefalaiou, also part of the National Bank Group, and finally, President of the Musical and Educational Organization of Greece (Camerata Orchestra). He has served as a Member of Parliament, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Minister of Culture, and Minister of Agriculture. In the field of music, his activities focus mainly on opera composition. His repertoire includes four operas: "Antigone" by Sophocles, "Opus Elgin: The Destruction of the Parthenon," "Alcestis" by Euripides, and "Theodora" (from the Justinian period). The first three were performed at the Athens Concert Hall. In the field of publications, he has authored works and articles in the scientific and political domains and is the author of the books "National Defense and Its Achilles' Heel" (Livani Publishing), "Searching for a Model of Democracy for Today" (Kaktos Publishing), and the librettos for the four operas.
