Nikos Kolovos

Nikos Kolovos (1938-2006) was born in Volos. He studied law and served twice as the president of the Volos Bar Association, with significant involvement in union activities. He began his engagement with cinema in 1960, writing a series of critical and theoretical texts. He was one of the main contributors during the second, post-dictatorship period of the magazine "Contemporary Cinema." Without leaving his hometown, he collaborated with Aigokeros Publications and the Thessaloniki Festival Publications, and taught cinema at the Department of Architecture at the University of Thessaly. He also held a doctorate from the Department of Sociology at Panteion University and collaborated with the Department of Culture at the Hellenic Open University. Nikos Kolovos was also an avid mountaineer and wrote and published, among other things, texts about Greek nature and the environment, as well as travel impressions from Pelion, and more.
