Nikos Makris
Nikos Makris was born in Astakos, Aetolia-Acarnania, in 1947. A Doctor of Philosophy and author, he creatively engages with the great unfoldings of the spirit in its intercultural expressions, striving to trace the philosophical constant that culminates in universal quests and crowns the historical efforts of seekers of wisdom, without prejudice and oversimplified views. Nikos Makris's philosophical journey, which has been met with particularly positive remarks, is long, persistent, and beyond the noise of the ephemeral. It constitutes a vigil expressed through numerous books, studies, articles, lectures, and lessons under the subtle light of philosophia perennis. He served for 30 years in Secondary Education, primarily teaching Philosophy and Literature. Additionally, Nikos Makris taught philosophy at the Municipal University of Piraeus, at the YWCA of Athens, and at the Hellenic Naval Academy. From 2003 to 2008, he served in the Greek Section of the European School III in Brussels. Furthermore, since 1999, he has been a permanent presenter at the Philosophical Café.
