Inta Mlakar Sernik

Ida Mlakar Črnič is a Slovenian author. She holds a degree in Slavic Studies and Comparative Literature from the University of Ljubljana and has been working as a head librarian at the Ljubljana City Library since 1995. Since 2001, she has co-edited the Handbook of Quality Children's Literature and actively promotes quality reading. She has published more than ten children's books, one of which, "Magic Spells," has been adapted into an animated film. In 2016, her book "The Cow That Barked at the Moon," illustrated by Peter Škerl, received the Kristina Brenkova Award for the best children's book of the year and was included in the White Ravens list (featuring the 200 best children's and youth books from around the world). Her book "Nearby" was included in the 2019 White Ravens list.
