Paylos Ioannou

He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Athens. He was born in 1944 in Metamorfosi, Kastoria. He received his Bachelor's degree and MSc in Physics in 1969 from Leningrad University and completed his doctoral dissertation in 1976 at the same university. Since 1981, he has been teaching at the University of Athens. His research activities are related to experimental high-energy physics and experimental nuclear physics. He has served as a scientific collaborator at CERN. He has been a member of the high-energy physics group at the University of Athens since 1982, participating in its activities and publications. He has participated in experiments at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (E705), CERN (PS180, R808, DELPHI, and ATLAS). Since 1993, he has been responsible for the experiment titled "Determination of the Production Cross Section of Charmed Particles in PN Interactions at 70 GeV" at the Protvino accelerator in Russia. Pavlos D. Ioannou has more than 175 publications in international scientific journals and 61 presentations at scientific conferences.
