Katerina Korre - Zografou

Katerina Korre-Zografou was born in Athens and studied archaeology and art history at the Universities of Athens and Bonn. She is a professor at the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens, where she teaches historical and social folklore with an emphasis on major and minor traditional arts. Her work includes timeless retrospectives, particularly in the field of symbolism, as well as comparative research that incorporates material from neighboring Balkan and Asia Minor regions. She has authored numerous studies and contributed to collective works and exhibition catalogs ("Treasures of Mount Athos," 1997, "Dictionary of Greek Artists," 1997, among others). She leads a research program (University of Athens) aimed at compiling a Corpus of wine folklore in Greece. Katerina has participated in many Greek and international conferences and has given lectures at universities across Europe and the United States.
