
Herbert A. Simon
Herbert Alexander Simon (1916-2001) served as a professor of computer science and psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. He was honored with the U.S. National Medal of Science and received the highest accolades in the fields of public administration, operations research, computer science, artificial intelligence, and psychology. In 1978, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences "for his pioneering research into the decision-making processes within economic organizations."
