Petros Papakonstantinou

Petros Papakonstantinou was born in Athens in 1959. He studied Physics at the University of Athens, was a postgraduate fellow at the "Demokritos" research center, and earned a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics. Since 1990, he has been professionally engaged in journalism. Over the years, he has collaborated with various print and electronic media outlets, focusing on political and international reporting. For the past two decades, he has been working for the newspaper "Kathimerini." On behalf of the newspaper, he has undertaken assignments in conflict zones such as the occupied Palestinian territories, Iraq, Libya, and eastern Ukraine. He also covered popular uprisings in Cairo in 2011 and Istanbul in 2013. He has interviewed significant international figures, including Hugo Chávez, Gerry Adams, Yasser Arafat, Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, Romano Prodi, Shimon Peres, Bashar al-Assad, Tony Benn, Noam Chomsky, Samir Amin, Alain Badiou, Slavoj Žižek, and others.
