Ilias Konstantopoulos

Ilias Konstantopoulos is an architect and Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture at the University of Patras. He studied architecture at the Bartlett School (U.C.L.). He has taught architecture and design at the University of Patras, Harokopio University, A.K.T.O., and Athens College. His research programs include "Housing in Athens in the 1930s," "European Study Programs," and "Linear Design Teaching Program." He is a board member of the Hellenic Institute of Architecture and the Hellenic Society of Aesthetics. He is also a member of the Hellenic Secretariat of Industrial Design and the International Creators' Organization. He has published the magazines 9H, 70X100, Design, and the monograph Nikos Valsamakis 7950-83. He co-edited the books "Contemporary Industrial Design in Greece," "Architecture of the 20th Century: Greece," and "History of Decorative Arts." He served as an editorial consultant for Architectural Issues (editor of 8 special editions). He has run an architectural office in Athens since 1986 and the industrial design company Sigma Design from 1990 to 1995. He was the commissioner of the Greek participation in the 10th Architecture Biennale in Venice and curator of the Europe-Japan 2005 program in Tokyo (2006).
