Liza Varvogli

Dr. Lisa Varvogli, Ph.D., is a psychologist-psychotherapist who completed her postgraduate training at Boston's Tufts, Northeastern, and Harvard Universities (Master's degrees, Doctorate, and Postdoctoral Training). She is a faculty member at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the Master's Program "Science of Stress and Health Promotion," and maintains a private practice. Her articles are published in prominent Greek and international scientific journals. She works with adults, children, adolescents, students, and their families in both America and Greece, addressing issues of proper upbringing, education, and communication between children and parents, as well as various challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, learning difficulties, attention deficit, etc. She has extensive experience with more than 10,000 hours of psychotherapy and counseling with adults, children, adolescents, and families, individually or in groups, at her office, in schools, and at Harvard's Children's Hospital. She has authored scientific textbooks and self-help books, as well as numerous children's books. Her book "The Mystery of the Chocolate Dessert," from the series Anelanda and Maximos - Mystery Agents, won the 1st Children's Book Award at the Public Book Awards in 2016. In the same year, she was honored by UNESCO for her contribution to literature and culture.
