
Symeon Retalis
Symeon Retalis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus. He studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (1989-1994). He pursued postgraduate studies in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, earning an MSc in Knowledge-Based Systems (1995). In 1998, he was awarded a Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. His research interests include e-learning, the design of adaptive hypermedia systems, and human-computer interaction. He is a member of specialized working groups such as ACM Computer Human Interaction and serves on the editorial boards of scientific journals like ACM Computer Reviews and Computers in Human Behavior, among others. He has an extensive publication record (over 120 papers) and has participated in numerous research and development projects. He is the scientific director of the innovative open-access educational service skoool.gr. Additionally, he coordinates the Advanced Learning Technologies and Culture Research Group, CoSyLLab, in the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus.
