Athanasios Mpochotis

Athanasios Bochotis was born in Athens in 1966. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Crete (1984-1988). In the same department, he defended his doctoral dissertation in 1999 on the topic: "The Critique of Parliamentary Democracy in the Greek State, 1864-1911." He worked at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (1989-1992 and 1999-2002) in the research program "Archaeology and Politics," under the direction of Athanasios Kalpaxis. He is also a member of the Society for the Study of Modern Hellenism (EMNE). Since 2001, he has been teaching Modern History at the Open University and in the Department of Political Science at the University of Crete.
