Maria Stratigaki

Maria Stratigaki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Policy at Panteion University. She studied economics and sociology in Greece and France. Her research interests focus on gender issues and social policy, as well as public policies for gender equality. She worked in the Equal Opportunities Unit of the European Commission (1991-1999) and as the General Director of the Research Centre for Gender Equality (1999-2002). She is the scientific coordinator of the European research program EQUAPOL, which aims to integrate the gender dimension into public policies in eight countries, and she participates in transnational research programs at the Center for Social Morphology and Social Policy (KE.KMO.KO.P.)
