Dimitra Kotoula

Dimitra Kotoula was born in 1974 in Komotini and grew up in Xanthi. She studied art history and archaeology at the University of Ioannina. She pursued postgraduate studies at the University of London, specializing in Byzantine art. She works as an archaeologist and scientific collaborator at the Byzantine and Christian Museum and the British School at Athens. Her poetry collections "Three Notes for a Melody" (Nefeli 2004) and "The Persistent Narrative" (Patakis, 2017) have been published. Her poems and translations, mainly from the works of American poets Louise Gluck, Jorie Graham, and Sharon Olds, have been featured in European and international poetry festivals and published in electronic and print literary magazines in Greece, Europe, and the United States. Her poems have been translated into the major European languages.
