Kostis Papaioannou

Kostis Papaioannou has been the Secretary General for Transparency and Human Rights at the Ministry of Justice since March 2015. From 2006 to 2015, he was elected President of the National Commission for Human Rights. He played a leading role in establishing the Racist Violence Recording Network. Previously, he served for many years as the President of the Greek section of Amnesty International. He studied History and Archaeology and completed postgraduate studies in Political Science. He teaches as a philologist at the Franco-Hellenic School of Agia Paraskevi. His book "The Clean Hands of Golden Dawn: Exercises in Nazi Purity" is published by Metaichmio. His book "Let's Speak Clearly About the Far Right" is published by the Hellenic League for Human Rights.
