
Antigoni S. Foka
Antigoni Foka, née Apostolou Melissaratou, was born and raised in Romania. She spent her childhood in Braila, a major commercial city and port on the Danube. After her school years, she lived in Ploiesti, an industrial city and a key oil center of the country, where one of the world's first oil refineries was established. Later, she settled in the capital, Bucharest. She emigrated to Greece in the early 1960s, and subsequently to the United States of America, where she continues to reside today.
