
THeodoros G. Eleytherakis
Theodoros Eleftherakis was born in Rethymno and raised in Athens. He graduated from the Marasleio Pedagogical Academy and the Department of Political Science and International Studies at Panteion University. In 2003, he earned his doctorate from the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University. He is a primary education teacher and has been the Director of the 2nd Twelve-Grade Primary School of Rethymno since 2003. Additionally, since 2003, he has been teaching at the "Maria Amariotou" Teacher Training School of the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete. His scientific interests focus on the following areas: ideological-philosophical movements and political theories, sociology, history and politics of education, specifically: contemporary ideological movements (nationalism, globalization, etc.), sociology and politics of education in the 20th century, political socialization and school, history of modern Greek education and the language issue, socio-historical evolution of disability and special education. He is also involved in research programs related to the organization of the school and student community, traffic education, parental counseling, and distance education.
