David Bass

David Bass, M.Med (Surg) (UCT), FCS (SA), is a surgeon whose interest in pediatrics, trauma prevention, and emergency medicine led to his appointment as the head of the Pediatric Trauma Department at the Red Cross Children's Hospital in Cape Town in 1987, and as the director of the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Southern Africa in 1992. Dr. Bass is a certified instructor in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Pediatric Life Support. His extensive medical writing includes numerous topics such as injuries in children and injury prevention.
