Stavroula Katelanou was born and raised in Athens. From a young age, she engaged in poetry. Her literary work now includes fourteen poetry collections, two with epigrams, one with novellas, and two collections of lyrics for musical adaptation (under the pseudonym "Chiona"), some of which have been successfully set to music. Her work was presented at the Eighth Olympiad (2004) and the Panathenaic Olympiad (2005). It has also been featured on radio and television, receiving positive reviews. Her work is cataloged in the "Great Encyclopedia of Modern Greek Literature" by Haris Patsis, in the South Bank Centre Literature Library in London, as well as in other encyclopedias and anthologies. Part of her work has been translated into English. She has collaborated with publishing houses (Koridis, Mavridis, Smyrniotakis, among others), literary magazines (Polyptycho, Nea Ariadne, etc.), and newspapers (Lampsi, Niki, etc.). She has been repeatedly awarded in Greece and abroad. Recently, she was honored at the Conference of Poets and Artists in Acapulco (2008). The same year, she received an award at the Poetry Festival in China and in 2009 at the World Poetry Competition in Brussels, chaired by Mrs. Isabella Maratou, where she won the First Prize in Poetry. That same year, she was awarded the Second Prize in Poetry at the World Poetry Competition organized by the "Amphictyony of Hellenism." In 2007, she participated in the Thessaloniki Song Festival (with a ballad) and was distinguished. In 2011, she took part in the Edinburgh International Festival for painters and poets and was recognized. She is the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of the International Society of Greek Writers, an honorary member of E.T.E.P.K., and a member of the Society for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, the Organization for the Internationalization of the Greek Language, and other literary and non-literary associations. She has given numerous talks and lectures at schools and literary clubs, always focusing on literary topics.
