Rachel Cusk

Rachel Cusk was born in 1967. She has written six novels: "Saving Agnes," which won the Whitbread Award for a first novel, "The Temporary," "The Country Life," which won the Somerset Maugham Award, "The Lucky Ones" (shortlisted for the Whitbread Novel Award), "In the Fold," and "Arlington Park" (shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction). Her essay book, "A Life's Work" (2001), was highly successful. In 2003, Granta magazine included her in its list of the best young British novelists.
