
Panagiotis Giavrimis
Panagiotis Giavrimis was born in Mytilene and graduated from the Pedagogical Academy of Mytilene. He was appointed as a teacher in 1987. He attended the Marasleio Teaching School of Primary Education, specializing in "Pedagogy and Teaching for Individuals with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties." He holds a master's degree in School Psychology from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and a master's degree from the Department of Sociology at the University of the Aegean, titled "Applied Research in the Development of Innovative Local and Regional Policies and Social Cohesion." He completed his doctoral dissertation at the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology at EKPA in 2002. Since 1997, he has been actively involved in educational, intervention, and research activities (teacher training seminars, counseling support programs in earthquake-affected schools, primary mental health prevention programs in schools, development of the "Athena Test," etc.). Panagiotis Giavrimis has published the books: "Attitudes and Perceptions towards People with Disabilities," "Learning Difficulties: Conceptual Clarification - Management," "Special Education, Career Guidance for People with Disabilities, and Deinstitutionalization" (co-authored), "Topics in the Sociology of Education" (co-authored), and "Social and Emotional Education in School: Social and Emotional Education Program in School. Thematic Units: Communication, Self-Perception, Emotions" (co-authored). He has also published studies and papers in Greek and international journals and has participated in Greek and international conferences with work presentations. From 2003 to 2009, he served as a School Counselor, Deputy Director of the P.E.K. of Mytilene, Head of Pedagogical Scientific Guidance in the North Aegean Region, Head of Parent Schools in Lesvos, and taught based on Presidential Decree 407/80 at the University of the Aegean. In May 2009, he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of the Aegean, specializing in "Sociology of Education."
