Ioannis M. Konstantakos

Ioannis M. Konstantakos was born in Athens in 1972. He studied classical philology at the University of Athens. With a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation, he pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge, where he earned a Ph.D. in 2000 with a dissertation on the comic poet Antiphanes. He has lectured and participated in seminars at universities in Greece and Europe and has published numerous studies in Greek and international academic journals. Since 2003, he has been teaching ancient Greek at the Department of Philology at the University of Athens. His specific academic interests include ancient Greek and Roman comedy, ancient fiction, riddles and puzzles in the ancient world, the influence of the Near East and Egypt on Greek culture, and the reception of classical texts in modern Europe.
