Buying Guide for Eye Creams

Tired, puffy eyes or dark circles? Want to refresh your skin? You need an eye cream!

If you are confused by the thousands of options available and don’t know your needs, let’s take a look at the main features you should consider to find the ideal eye cream for you.

1. Ingredients

Eye creams contain many ingredients in their formulas, but all of them have 1-2 active ingredients that “stand out.” Let’s take a look at them!

  • Collagen: Provides firmness to the skin and helps with anti-aging.
  • Aloe: Offers instant hydration and is recommended for sensitive skin.
  • Vitamin C: Brightens the skin and reduces discoloration.
  • Retinol: Boosts cell renewal, contributes to firmness and skin regeneration. It is recommended to start with less frequent applications, for example, 1 to 2 times per week.
  • Hyaluronic acid: Effectively reduces the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, deeply hydrates the skin, and rejuvenates the complexion.
  • Caviar: Provides deep cellular hydration, stimulates skin regeneration, has antioxidant properties, and tones the skin.

2. Skin Needs

There are many ingredients, each of which helps the skin in its own way.

What is very important is to determine your skin's need:

3. Composition

With this filter you can select specific characteristics related to the origin of the cream.

Vegan:  There are no ingredients of animal origin in the cream.

Cruelty Free: No animal testing has been carried out during the production of the cream.

4. Additional needs

Looking for a cream specially designed for men's skin or for mature skin? Choose the corresponding filter!

Have questions about applying eye cream? We have the answers!

What is the best time to apply eye cream?

Ideally, morning and night! If you wear makeup in the morning or don’t have time, then only at night. But don’t forget to create a routine and try to stick to it. Consistency is key!

What is the most “correct” way to apply it?

Apply a small amount, meaning 2 small dots of product, to your ring fingers and spread it over the area with gentle, circular motions.

Why specifically the ring finger? Because it applies the least pressure, and we want the cream to be applied with gentle movements!

What is the most “correct” way to store it?

To keep the cream properly, store it in a cool place, away from sunlight, and don’t forget to close the lid tightly to prevent air from getting in!

Have you never tried an ingredient before? Do the patch test!

The patch test is a test for possible skin allergies. Apply a small amount of serum to a small area and, after a few days, see whether it has caused any irritation. If not, you are most likely fine!

If you are allergic to an ingredient, in addition to the main ingredient, also check the exact characteristics of the serum. In any case, before using any product, consult your dermatologist!

Don’t forget that there can often be differences in a product based on its overall characteristics as well as its construction. Before deciding, read other users’ reviews too, so you can see their opinion and compare it with the use you intend to make of it!
