1. Cigar type

There are about 13 different cigar types, which vary in flavor, smoking duration, and size. The most classic “type,” which is also considered the reference point for all cigars and is an ideal choice for a beginner, is the Corona type.  

2. Ring (Diameter)

Ring is the diameter of the cigar, measured in sixty-fourths of an inch. For example, a cigar with a diameter of 48 has a diameter of 48/64 of an inch, that is, 1.9 centimeters. 

3. Size 

From a small cigar the size of a classic cigarette to very, very larger ones, the options are endless! Usually, the longer the cigar, the longer its smoking duration will be. For example, small cigars have a shorter smoking duration and are usually chosen as an accompaniment to coffee.

4. Cutting 

There are 3 different types of cigar cutters.

1. Guillotine type,  which is the most common and easy to use. Recommended for beginners.

2. V-Cut type, which is more difficult to use. With this cut, the cigar delivers a more intense and "full" flavor. Recommended for experienced smokers.

3. Punch Cutter type, which creates a small hole at the end of the cigar. Their use requires skill and experience, as it is very easy to damage the cigar. It is not suitable for all cigar types.

5. Proper Storage

To keep your cigars in excellent condition, store them in an environment with 68-72% humidity and a temperature of about 18-21 degrees Celsius. For the perfect environment for your cigars, invest in a cigar humidor.
