First introduction

But what do we mean when we say “double 10-liter basket”? We mean that, unlike other models that have 2 separate baskets, the Izzy IZ-8225 has one large basket that is divided by a separator into two smaller 5-liter ones. The basket measures 33x23cm and is 11cm high.

To achieve baking on both sides, the device has two separate resistances, one for each side of the chamber, which can be adjusted independently. 

The chamber has windows on each side so you can monitor the interior, and a separate light for each one.

At the top is the touch screen with 8 preset programs for convenience, the screens for time and temperature for each side, and the two large buttons for the Smart Finish and Match Cook options.

Smart Finish Function: You set the temperature and time on each side, and the side with the shorter time will start later, so they synchronize and finish cooking at the same time. 

Match Cook Function: Whether you use it with a single basket or with the divider, the same temperatures and times are set for both sides. 

The temperature can be adjusted from 80 to 200°C, and the maximum time that can be set is 60 minutes. With the Izzy IZ-8225 air fryer, you can also dehydrate fruits. 

The cord is 1 meter long and can be wrapped around the two clips on the back for easy storage and transport. 

Along with the fryer, the package also includes the user manual, a recipe and suggestion booklet, and 30 disposable non-stick paper liners.

Tests

Of course, for the tests, I would cook many different ingredients and recipes, as always, to get the most comprehensive picture of the capabilities of the Izzy IZ-8225. 

Before each use, I preheated the fryer using the default program for about 10 minutes.

Steaks and Chicken: Some of the most common meats I tried were chicken breast, pork chops, and beef fillet. In all cases, the result was properly cooked meat, juicy on the inside. 

French Fries: With some minor differences in time and temperature, for frozen and fresh, with the addition of a little olive oil or sunflower oil, the fries came out evenly cooked, crispy, and golden. 

Roasted Vegetables: My new favorite combination for a vegetable side dish with some meat or on their own is broccoli, sweet potato, and zucchini. Here, it required a bit of attention and enough oil to prevent the broccoli from burning, but after 2-3 tries, all the vegetables came out cooked and tender.

Salmon fillet: Handle with care as it is delicate and to avoid drying out or breaking, it was ready in 9-10 minutes at 180 degrees.

Burgers: 6 large and thick burgers made from ground beef were cooked properly at 180 degrees for 40 minutes, 20 on each side. They came out nicely caramelized on the outside and adequately cooked on the inside. 

Of course, as a home with two small children, I also used the Izzy IZ-8225 for frozen chicken nuggets and breaded fish sticks, frozen puff pastry snacks, and sausages. 

The Izzy IZ-8225 air fryer performed very well in all cooking tests and the user experience was trouble-free. 

Another positive is the low noise during operation, and one negative is that due to the dual basket, you essentially lose the ability to shake the ingredients halfway through cooking, such as French fries, for example, if you are cooking both at the same time. Inevitably, the food in the second basket will also move, so stirring has to be done with some tongs. 

Final Verdict

Is the Izzy IZ-8225 air fryer for you? If you want an air fryer with a very large basket for a family of 3-4 people or you want plenty of space for your cooking creations, then yes. At a very good price for its features and performance, at around €150, it is excellent and I recommend it!
