Razer Deathadder V2 - Review

Razer Deathadder V2 - Review

I was looking for a gaming mouse for a long time, that would be reliable, high quality and comfortable to use, so I could love it and make it my right hand, and 4 years ago I found it. The Razer Deathadder V2!

The second generation of Razer's highly successful Deathadder model was released about two years ago and since then it has been receiving love from gamers worldwide and beyond. So, let's take a detailed look at it!

Razer Deathadder V2 - Unboxing

The first Razer Deathadder was on the market for over 10 years and had become one of the favorite gaming mice around the world. And a few years ago, it was time for its successor.

The DeathAdder V2 by Razer is suitable for long gaming sessions, specially designed for hand comfort, featuring an optical sensor up to 20000 DPI, optical switch buttons with a 0.2ms response time, and a braided cable to reduce movement resistance.

Inside the beautifully packaged box, as Razer usually does, we obviously find the mouse, the user manual, the warranty information sheet, impressive stickers that, when you stick them on your case, increase the FPS, and a note from Razer's CEO.

The Deathadder V2 is neither huge in size nor heavy at 82gr, but it is exactly what is needed for large palms like mine. It is sturdy, high-quality, and has a total of 8 buttons, 7 on the top and one underneath for selecting different profiles, which are defined in Razer Synapse. The logo and the scroll wheel are illuminated, and their colors and type are also adjusted in Synapse.

The two rubber grips on the sides provide extra comfort and stability in handling.

The cable has a Razer Speedflex fabric covering that offers reduced friction for comfortable use.

Usage

After almost 4 years as my main mouse at home and office, the Razer Deathadder V2 remains my favorite gadget. It is the most comfortable device I have ever used, and the 8-10 hours of daily use in gaming, audio and image editing programs, as well as office work, do not strain my wrist and hand at all.

Although I do not use the 20,000 DPI sensor to its maximum capabilities, it is there, and the response to anything I request is fast due to the Optical Switches that offer less latency and longer lifespan.

It is quite silent and the cable does not get tangled at all, even on a cluttered desk among screens and other peripheral cables.

With the Synapse software, you can keep your settings in a Cloud environment on any computer. And of course, it has several million colors to choose from, which, like stickers, increase the FPS in games. Okay, maybe not.

Final Verdict

I understand that the Razer Deathadder V2 has been on the market for several years now, and there might be much better models in terms of performance and features at the same cost. Its price might have even increased. However, I would buy it again without hesitation and recommend it to everyone without reservation.

Of course, to everyone who is right-handed, as this is the only drawback I can find after 4 years of use.
