What should you pay attention to before buying?

Where will you place it?

Do you want to monitor the interior space of your home, office, or store, or do you plan to place it outdoors to monitor the surrounding area of a facility? In the second case, make sure that the camera you purchase has waterproof protection and is resistant to weather conditions.

Choosing video resolution

A camera with Full HD resolution at 1080p will offer you good image quality, allowing for relatively good recognition of faces and objects. For recording at even higher resolution with very good clarity, you can choose a Full HD+ camera, while an option with 4K resolution will allow you to distinguish even the smallest details. Define your main need as well as the monitoring requirements of the installation area and choose accordingly!

Storage and access to data

Examine the way the data recorded by the camera is stored and accessed. For example, an IP camera connects wirelessly or via cable to the installation area, and data storage in most cases can be done on an SD card, on a network or hybrid recorder, or even through a subscription cloud service. In contrast, analog cameras (CCTV) connect via cable to a recording device or a monitoring screen in a closed circuit, allowing control of the installation area in this way.

Night vision function

If you are going to use the camera for monitoring during the night as well, choose one with night vision. Depending on the model, they allow recording in low-light conditions or even in darkness, through infrared LED technology.
