HarmonyOS Next, η Huawei μπαίνει στη νέα εποχή της
Huawei is building its own ecosystem day by day with the HarmonyOS operating system and is now moving into the next era, having many smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops on the market. The Chinese company has presented what we have been expecting for a long time, HarmonyOS Next, the next major upgrade to its operating system, which has been built completely independent of Android.
We will find it in all the company's upcoming models, whether we are talking about portable devices or "smart" devices that we use in our homes. It is based on the OpenHarmony core and supports applications through the Huawei Ark compiler with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) to support and collaborate with the cloud.
The head of Huawei Consumer Group, Richard Yu, announced that there are already 15,000 applications that are part of HarmonyOS Next, and many more are coming along the way. Up until the previous version, we had over 1 billion devices in the field of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart home, and infotainment for cars, and in the new version, we will see new lock screens, more customization options, redesigned control center, faster animations, and many artificial intelligence features.
With HarmonyOS Next, the company managed to achieve 20% lower energy consumption and also presented the Huawei Share 2.0 mechanism, based on which two of the company's devices can communicate wirelessly with each other at very high speeds. For example, files of 1.2GB can be transferred from one product to another in less than 8 seconds!
Regarding security, finally, HarmonyOS brings Huawei's own Star Shield architecture. The public beta of the operating system is already available for device users in China, and initially, the Huawei Pura 70, Huawei Pocket 2, and Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (2024) models are supported.
