What to Wear to a Wedding in the Summer of 2026!
Wedding season is on by Korina Vrousia
The wedding season has officially begun and we have prepared 10 suggestions to never again worry about the dilemma of "what should I wear". No matter what your role is as a guest, no matter the location or the conditions of the ceremony, get ready to make a difference.
To help you even further and to let the excitement of the wedding prevail instead of the outfit dilemma, we have divided them into 10 special occasions, gathered the most suitable suggestions, and here is the result!
Wedding at an Estate
Since we’re talking about a summer wedding, but indoors, the keyword in this case is shine. In other words, choose something with a glittery look or metallic fabric. Wear it just enough so that it defines you and makes you feel beautiful. You can take it to 100% shine if that’s how you feel, or limit it to details in the look you choose. Shiny fabrics look very elegant in summer in earthy shades, such as sand tones, and pair perfectly with subtle gold jewelry or pearls. Accessories—such as a bag and shoes—in such an outfit should ideally stay in soft nude shades.
Bridesmaid Outfit
In this case, on the one hand you don’t want to overshadow the bride, but on the other hand you want your important role to be noticed, so the bridesmaid’s look can become a bit of a puzzle. We would say that dresses for weddings are the only way in this case, especially those that lean toward longer lengths. Subtle floral patterns in pastel shades or a dress in emerald, turquoise, or mint will make a very nice impression. If you’re not into dresses, a jumpsuit with the above specifications is ideal. In both cases, heels are almost a must, as are accessories that should have a sparkling touch.
Wedding on the Island
Before you go ahead and buy the outfit you will wear to the island wedding, make sure it can be transported easily, that it does not wrinkle easily, and that it fits in the suitcase you will take without being too cramped. From there on, a wedding on the island, where the mood is more relaxed and carefree, makes choosing your look much easier. A flowy dress with thin straps, a wrap top with a silk skirt or a wide jumpsuit with an open back or neckline will work wonders. Espadrilles and metallic sandals (in a comfortable heel height or completely flat) are the only shoes you will need to bring with you to enjoy this day.
The Bride’s Sister
However you look at it, this day is very unique and special, so your look should also be worthy of your role. A long dress that leaves the shoulders uncovered, paired with impressive earrings and high-heeled sandals is a great choice. A dress in pastel shades with slits at the legs or an open back and gold jewelry also suit the occasion very well.
Note: You won’t be able to “avoid” high heels when your sister gets married, unless the wedding is in a very relaxed mood at a town hall or on an island.
Wedding in the Village
A wedding in the village will certainly have a more traditional feel, and that is automatically reflected in the dress code as well. But not in an overly formal way. For example, a dress with spaghetti straps or a design that leaves the shoulders bare fits very well. Likewise, a short dress with puff sleeves or a midi dress with a striking belt at the waist will blend perfectly with the setting. Platforms at a comfortable height and sandals with a medium heel will pair nicely with the outfit. Accessories are not so important in this case; a small clutch and a combo of bracelets on one wrist will beautifully complete the final result.
The bride’s bestie
This is the classic case where you go to honor your best friend and enjoy yourself to the fullest. Maxi dresses with bold side slits or open-back details and a plunging neckline are ideal. The same goes for a dress that hugs and flatters the curves of the body, or a cropped top with a long, striking skirt. We recommend wearing high heels to the church, and when you head to the wedding party, bring along a pair of sandals that match your look so you can dance with your friend until the early hours of the morning!
Wedding at City Hall
Here you’ll need to ask the couple how they plan to dress stylistically, so that it doesn’t look like you tried too hard or that you came too casually. In the first case, if the atmosphere will be very relaxed, you should do the same. Go for a pants-and-shirt look in bright colors or a floral dress with subtle cutouts above the waist and back. If it’s a bit more formal, then an A-line dress or a wrap dress will fit perfectly. In both cases, you can wear sandals with metallic details, a simple small bag that fits all the essentials, and keep your jewelry fairly minimal.
I’m accompanying my boyfriend
Here, to have a good time and feel comfortable, you should stick strictly to what makes you feel beautiful and like yourself. Don’t experiment with looks you haven’t tried before and suddenly step out of your comfort zone. Go for monochrome options such as nude, soft pink or yellow, a subtle turquoise or a brick brown. Let accessories and jewelry make their presence more noticeable, such as a bag in a metallic shade or a pair of striking earrings. The same applies to platform shoes and sandals in metallic shades with a medium-height feminine heel will do wonders.

High-end wedding
This case, as “difficult” as it is in winter, is even more so in summer, when you want to feel lighter and more relaxed. Here you’ll have to be strong and create a very beautiful, fully polished makeup look in a sun-kissed style, style your hair as loosely as possible - but you’ll still have to go to the hair salon, there’s no avoiding it - and wear your high-heeled sandals because otherwise it won’t work. As for the outfit, it can certainly look more relaxed because of the season, but by no means careless. Geometric multicolored patterns suit the occasion nicely, dresses with more mermaid-like lines and close to the body, a high-waisted straight-leg pair of trousers with an impressive bustier with embroidered stones or crystals would be perfect for the occasion, as would a strapless dress or jumpsuit, to highlight the impressive jewelry that is ideal for such an invitation.
Beach Wedding
In such an invitation, nothing should restrict your movements, both dancing and non-dancing. You want a relaxed, fluid look that embraces your body coolly and flatteringly, and makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. Shades of sand, sun, and sea and fuchsia of bougainvillea will make your look even lighter and island-like. It's best to avoid white for obvious reasons! The accessories here can be more... vacation-like, such as some shells, evil eye charms, and little corals or something with colorful summer stones. To complete the outfit, you will need a pair of flat sandals and a simple bucket bag that harmonizes with your overall look.
