6 παιδικά διδακτικά παραμύθια με βαθύ νόημα

As parents, a powerful tool we have at our disposal to raise emotionally mature children is children's didactic fairy tales. Through their stories, young children take on the role of central heroes, learn to recognize their emotions, overcome their fears, and strengthen their personalities. For this very reason, every night I read to my twin boys one of the six best children's didactic fairy tales we have in our children's library!

Once upon a time…

1. The Two Tails

Two horses, the gray Psaris and the red Dorís, are trying in vain every day to get rid of the horseflies that won't leave them alone. Until they join forces and with a clever plan, they escape from the annoying flies.

This beautiful book with its seemingly simple story and straightforward dialogues is actually very powerful and teaches children the concept of empathy and cooperation!

My boys, who are five years old, love horses... Inspired by this fairy tale, they took on the roles of the two horses, galloping around the house, jumping over obstacles, and neighing. And to make it more realistic, we hung towels for tails and they joined forces until they escaped from the horseflies, just like in the book!

Thus, through this game, we relived the fairy tale and most importantly, learned the value of cooperation!

The book: Psaris, the gray horse, finds no peace from the annoying horseflies. Neither does Dorís, the red horse. They swish their tails to drive them away! But the horseflies... stay put! "There are so many that one needs two tails," sighs Dorís. "But where can we find two tails?" he wonders afterward. "Easy!" says Psaris. "You gave me an idea!" and quickly hatches a plan. How nice it is now without the horseflies biting them! But how did they manage to keep them away? "The Two Tails" is an adaptation of a story once told by grandma. The series: To ensure children have a healthy social life based on effective relationships, they must cultivate empathy, the ability to put themselves in others' shoes, to understand and feel things the same way another person experiences them. This need is addressed by the illustrated books in this series, which promote emotional intelligence. With the approach recommended for parents and educators, they attempt to initiate children into seeing the world through others' eyes, after first learning to recognize and manage their own emotions. The series "Books that Promote Emotional Intelligence" consists of 30 books. The author: Yolanda Tsoroni-Georgiadi is a graduate of the Law School, the Pedagogical Academy, the Department of Education of the University of Athens, and has further training at the Marasleio Teaching School. She worked for many years in public education, writes articles for educational magazines, volunteers in organizations promoting literature, is an active member of the Women's Literary Society, and has published many children's books and folklore studies. She is included in the Registry of Trainers for the program "Innovative Actions to Enhance Students' Reading" and has undertaken educational work in training seminars for Primary Education teachers.

2. Yeti, the Power of Yet

A little boy has an imaginary friend, the Yeti, who can only say one small magical word... "Yet"! The Yeti is always by his friend's side, encouraging him in his efforts... Until the moment when the little boy has grown strong enough to stand on his own two feet!

A very powerful educational fairy tale, with simple texts and sketches, that helps young children understand that even if they are not good at something yet, with persistence and continuous effort, they will succeed!

Children's worries, the fear of failure and rejection from friends and parents, shrink in front of the magical word "yet"! I haven't succeeded yet! I will try harder until I succeed! The impressive sketch of the Yeti is blue-light blue and thus dominates the pages, most of which are gray! It is huge compared to the boy, to show how much strength it has, but also how much protection and empowerment it generously offers to his friend.

When each child finally understands their value and strengths, and faces each failure as a challenge, they no longer need any imaginary friend! They can achieve anything on their own!

Γέτι: Η δύναμη του ακόμη

Are our abilities and skills ultimately something fixed, or do they change with the effort we put in? Yeti is the Boy's imaginary friend. It follows him everywhere, but it can only say one word… yet. The Boy discovers that this is a magical word that, when used correctly, expands his mind and allows him to achieve anything, as long as he tries. The global educational phenomenon that changes the way we perceive our children's abilities, through the imagination of author and illustrator Marina Gioti.

3. The Moon Coverer

A little boy is the new moon coverer... The one who covers the moon every night so that the rest of the world can see the wonderful crescents! But... Disaster! He lost the magic candy, the only way to reach the moon. And just when he feels disappointed, alone, and helpless, an entire city helps him achieve his goal.

One of the sweetest children's educational fairy tales that elevate the precious concepts of friendship, cooperation, support, and selflessness as high as the moon!

A clever and beautiful story that keeps children's interest undiminished, as they already love the bright little moon. Mainly, however, it teaches children, who often feel that others do not understand, that there is always someone beside them who generously offers their help.

The job of the moon coverer is very important, because the half-moons that are formed adorn the sky and help people keep track of the passing time. Timoleon has just received his diploma and must reach the moon tonight to continue, in turn, creating wonderful half-moons with the sheet over the sleeping city. Only a magical candy will ruin everything… The Moon Coverer by Eric Puybaret has captivated thousands of young readers with its wonderful illustrations and enchanting storytelling, cultivating imagination and a love for reading.

4. Greta and the Giants

Greta is a little girl who lives in the forest. One day, the animals ask for her help to save this forest from the Giants. She starts a fight against them, all by herself, holding just a sign that says "Stop". Gradually, more and more people and animals join her fight. Will she manage to stop the Giants?

The heroine of the book is a real person. She is Greta Thunberg, the well-known activist who has dedicated her life to the fight against climate change!

A book with beautiful illustrations that teaches children to always support with determination, courage, and strength what they believe in. Even one person can make a change or at least start it. Just like Greta did!

Η Γκρέτα και οι γίγαντες, Inspired by Greta Thunberg's fight to save the world

Greta lives in a beautiful forest that is threatened by Giants. When the Giants first came to the forest, they cut down trees to build houses. Then they cut down more trees to build bigger houses. The houses became villages, and the villages grew and became cities, and so today there are very few forests left. Fortunately, Greta has an idea… An inspiring illustrated book about the struggle of Nobel Peace Prize nominee Greta Thunberg. A book for very young children. 5. Lucas, the fox who wanted it all

Lucas is a fox who is not satisfied with himself. He envies the abilities of other animals and therefore makes strange inventions to resemble them. Wings to fly like a bird or stilts to jump high like a frog. However, all the inventions end in failure and Lucas falls into melancholy. Until the moment when, with his own unique abilities, he saves his friends from the enemies!

A wonderful children's educational fairy tale that teaches children that every person is unique and special, with their own amazing "magical" abilities!

The fantastic, colorful, and original illustration makes the book playful and captivates children's eyes!

Only when we love and accept ourselves will others around us love us for exactly who we are!

Λουκάς η Αλεπού που τα Ήθελε Όλα

Lucas the fox lived in the branches of a magnificent large tree. One day he decided to start inventing everything he lacked and envied in others: wings to fly like a bird, night vision to see in the dark like an owl, stilts to jump high like a frog, and a bunch of other incredible things to have everything he wanted. Until the critical moment comes to save his friends, and then he will discover that his most useful inventions are himself and his own fox-like powers!

6. The Whale and Humility

A whale, Poseidonia, was so arrogant, so conceited and egotistical, that in the end, she was left alone. She had no friends. However, when she found herself in danger, the other fish in the ocean helped her. From then on, she understood that humility, friendship, support, and the help you give to others comes back to you.

A wonderful blue educational fairy tale that makes you feel like you are underwater swimming with the whale!

It teaches children that selfishness, arrogance, and pride drive other people away and ultimately bring loneliness, boredom, and unhappiness.

However, if you realize your mistake, like the whale, you can change your behavior and with humility and selflessness, win back your friends and fill your life with love and peace.

Poseidonia constantly boasts about everything around her. As if that weren't enough, she refuses to offer help to those who ask her for it. Deep down, however, she doesn't dare to admit that the loneliness she feels is as vast as the ocean. When her life is at some point in danger, she will realize that humility and selflessness bring you closer to others.

I read baby books and fairy tales to my little ones since they were one year old! Now that they are five years old, I choose one of the six best educational fairy tales we have in our children's library every night. I try to help them overcome their fears and insecurities, to strengthen and mature emotionally…

And they lived happily ever after, and we even happier!
