Why choose a ready-made Desktop PC composition?

Types of Desktop Computers

1. Basic PC

Basic PC is a computer for simple use. It is capable of serving us in daily tasks such as mail, social media, watching movies, and even light gaming, as many processors, even low-powered ones, include a graphics circuit with decent performance. Also, it is the most economical category compared to the previous ones.

More specifically, they usually include 8GB RAM with Intel i3/i5 - Ryzen 3/5 processors. A very important feature is the SSD storage devices, which are much more affordable compared to when they were first launched on the market.

This fact makes basic use computers much more powerful compared to older computers in this category, which had slow HDD drives.

The graphics card is usually integrated and designed for basic performance and not demanding gaming.

2. Gaming PC

A Gaming PC is mainly characterized by the graphics card it has. If a computer has a dedicated graphics card capable of running at least the latest games satisfactorily, then it is considered a Gaming computer.

Of course, here too we find gradations. There are Gaming PCs for casual users and Gaming PCs for hardcore users.

Assuming that all the components of a Gaming PC are usually of similar performance to the graphics card, and taking for granted that the SSD is the main storage medium, we can conclude the following:

  • Casual Gaming with most or all settings enabled up to 1080p:

Desktop PC with cards such as RTX 3060/RTX 4060/RTX 5060/RX 5600 XT/RX 6600/RX 6650 XT/RX 7600/RX 9060 XT

  • Gaming with most or all settings enabled up to 1440P for Casual Gaming:

Desktop PC with cards such as RTX 4070/RTX 4070 Super/RTX 4070 Ti/RTX 4070 Ti Super/RTX 5070/RX 6750 XT/RX 6800/RX 7700 XT/RX 7800 XT/RX 9070

  • Gaming with most or all settings enabled up to 4K for Hardcore Gamers:

Desktop PC with cards such as RTX 4080/RTX 4080 Super/RTX 4090/RTX 5080/RTX 5090/RX 6900 XT/RX 7900 XT/RX 7900 XTX/RX 9070 XT

Skroutz Tip: Ideally, the processor should be more powerful or at least of similar performance to the graphics card. In general, a mid-range processor should be paired with a mid-range card and a top-tier processor with a corresponding top-tier card if you want to get close to 100% of your system's capabilities. Before choosing a Gaming computer, it is good to keep these correlations in mind.

3. Performance PC

A Performance PC is characterized by increased power so that it can effortlessly run professional image and sound editing programs, CAD design, programming, etc. These PCs have at least 16GB RAM and a CPU from intel i5/AMD Ryzen 5 and above.

Indeed, if we need a computer for graphic design, CAD, etc., we might need a computer with professional graphics cards such as Quadro

It is also understood that a Gaming PC could also be a Performance PC at the same time, as long as it meets the above requirements. The graphics cards of Gaming PCs are capable of running and managing professional programs.

Skroutz Tip: If you are going to focus more on something, it would be good to choose a computer with the most modern processor possible, as this element is most often the most important in this category.
