The TPL-406E2K is a Powerline network extension kit designed for consumers who want to expand their existing wireless network throughout their home without the need to run Ethernet cables. The TPL-406E2K supports speeds up to 500 Mbps, making it ideal for streaming videos, gaming, and other applications that require high connection speeds. The TPL-406E2K is also very easy to install, simply plug it into a power outlet and connect it to your router using an Ethernet cable.

Adapters

Includes two TPL-406E adapters. Two adapters are required to start a network. Use up to 8 adapters to network devices in different rooms without installing new wiring.

  • I bought them to replace 2 TP-LINK Av500 where one of them got burned. I had them to transfer network to the other side of the living room (same room) for the TV and boxes so that the room wouldn't be crossed by cables.

    Before with the TP LINK, everything was working fine and movies/replay tv/on demand were playing without any problem. The same with the cable that I had for a month.

    I decided to buy the Trendnet set, as I believed that all powerlines have the same technology. Big mistake!!

    They get stuck every few hours, so I have to unplug the transmitter (output from the router) and plug it back in. Fortunately, the receiver (TV side) resynchronizes itself and I don't have to unplug it. However, the damage has been done: the machines get stuck, you lose the atmosphere, frustration, and the machines restart due to the network.

    I have tried everything. I changed parameters with the utility, they already had the latest firmware, with or without encryption, nothing. The speed is maximum 130 mbps, they were plugged into separate sockets (not a power strip). The house has single-phase electricity. The TP LINK were working even when they were on a power strip! I didn't change anything in the arrangement.

    I may have come across a faulty one, I spent many hours with tests/configuration without solving the problem.

    I wasted my money and my time. I don't recommend it, pay a little more and go for a more reliable brand.

  • It is better than some Dev*** that I had paid triple the price for. I have one on the first floor and the other in the basement (with the ground floor in between). And both are plugged into a power strip and synchronize at 116mbps! Get them with your eyes closed.. Attention, we never put them in ups because they lose a lot (10mbps).

    At the price of 25 euros, it was simply VFM. I bought version 2.0, and in the box there were 2 pieces and 2 network cables. I have set it up on a 100mbps line and it consistently reaches 90-92 mbps. Just be careful not to plug it into a power strip because the speed drops almost in half, meaning if you don't have it plugged into a socket by itself, it reaches about 50-55mbps. In any case, download the utility application from the company's website and upgrade to the latest firmware version because it used to work at 25mbps. Also, during installation on your computer, the utility will display a message that there is no application and you will need to go to the application's site to download it, install it, and then install the company's utility. We can add more adapters, up to a total of 8, and we can also have up to 4 different networks on the same electrical line. The only thing I don't know is if it will work in case we have a three-phase installation and we place the adapters in sockets with different phases. It's just a theoretical question because I have a single-phase supply anyway. What I noticed is that once you have set up the network, if you remove one adapter from the power and plug it back in, you have to remove the other one as well and plug it back in for them to communicate with each other. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but that's how it worked! Adding more adapters can be done very easily either through the application or with the switch that each adapter has on it
