Description

The Rega Brio MK7 is an upgraded integrated stereo Hi-Fi amplifier housed in a specially designed half-width aluminium chassis. It delivers 50 W per channel at 8 Ω and 72 W at 4 Ω, and features a Rega-designed DAC for the first time, with two digital inputs, an improved MM phono stage with MUSES operational amplifiers, a dedicated headphone output and advanced thermal protection circuitry.

Redesigned Circuit and 72W Power

The Brio MK7 delivers 50W per channel into 8Ω and 72W into 4Ω, providing ample power to drive demanding speakers. The PCB has been completely upgraded with the addition of a second power supply for superior isolation between the output stage and the line/phono stages, while preserving the circuit’s characteristic “musicality.”

Built-in Rega DAC with Digital Inputs

It features a built-in Rega-designed digital-to-analogue converter with 2 digital inputs (1x isolated S/PDIF coaxial and 1x S/PDIF optical Toslink). It supports sample rates from 32 to 192 kHz and uses high-quality MUSES op-amps for exceptional fidelity when connected to modern digital devices.

MM Phono Stage and Headphone Output

It features a Phono Stage (MM) preamp with improved stage isolation for clean vinyl playback. The specially designed front-panel headphone output automatically mutes the speakers when headphones are connected, without affecting or degrading the main signal path.

Smart Standby Functions and Remote Control

Includes a new mini system remote control that allows you to switch the device on and off remotely. With the Auto Standby function, the device automatically enters standby mode after approximately 1 hour without a signal, helping save energy and making it easier to use.

Robust Construction and Comprehensive Protection

Housed in a specially designed half-width aluminum chassis measuring 216 x 79 x 365 mm. It features thermal protection (thermal cut-out) that shuts down the device in case of overheating, as well as short-circuit protection for safe operation.

    Excellent amplifier especially for connecting with a turntable (very good phono stage preamplification), satisfactory for use with headphones, convenient for placement. It's worth listening to, it has a full and "warm" sound, especially in songs with vocals or strong rhythm, it keeps you captivated with your mouth open!

    Because I have also bought the Planar 1 turntable, I was looking to buy an amplifier. I read all the related reviews, I listened to it at the Sound and Image exhibition in 2017 and it had the best sound. I also read the test on hiendnews.gr and bought the amplifier. It is an amazing machine, it is a wolf in sheep's clothing, it has an amazing input for MM cartridges, and it can drive any difficult speaker despite being 50 W. Well done, Rega.
