After 13 months since I wrote my first review for these speakers when I had set them up, and compared them to the previous decade's speakers that were multiple times more expensive that I had, realizing how much technology has advanced in the small, relatively cheap speaker category in a decade, it's time to compare them to the next ones, twice the price, test winners in the above price category around 500 euros.
To be more specific, these speakers got me into trouble: they infected me with the hi-fi bug again. So in the meantime, I upgraded my honest Yamaha amplifier with the amazing iotavx sa3. The sound climbed a few more steps, and now it's time for these amazing little ones to make way for the Triangle Borea Bro3. These speakers have received rave reviews, for the above price category compared to the Spectros, and they are a perfect match for this specific amplifier according to the reviews.
Well, the Dalis, even though there was no simultaneous listening with the Triangles, since I had already given them away, they didn't hide. For my ears, the sound character was directly comparable to the Bro3 but on a smaller scale, since even as a physical size, they are half the size of the Triangles. In a room up to 16/18 square meters, I believe the Spectros would be evenly matched.
Only admiration for these speakers.

I just received them and immediately put them into service... Since I had floor-standing, larger, 20-year-old Technics speakers before, and I live in a house with a 50-year-old wooden floor, the vibrations and bass that I was used to hearing were incredibly, even annoyingly, strong in some productions, especially in old vinyl productions from the 70s. So, during my first hasty listening session with the speakers on the floor and a record from '76, I was shocked by the apparent lack of volume in the first few seconds. With two small adjustments to the amplifier's EQ and the rhythmic drums coming in, I started to express my surprise. The way the high frequencies from the turntables and Fender guitars sound is stunning. The bass starts to become present over time, and as soon as you give it a little more volume, you suddenly realize that these small Danish speakers are actually much more powerful than the large Technics floor-standing ones... The bass comes not with vague volume, but with a very distinct punch. I put gold-plated connectors on the cables and raised them to ear level on a shelf, lying down, 15 inches from the wall. The turntable competes with the CD, playing a production by Muse from the last 10 years. That's when the shock comes!!! The volume at one quarter of the amplifier surprises me, suddenly I hear details that I have never heard before, the bass is a punch that spreads throughout the house. The detail, the excellence of the sound is shockingly spread out. The stereo is very distinct. You can clearly hear what is in each speaker as the sound spreads across a wide range of frequencies and instruments. Truly an exhilarating sound, it makes you smile about your choice, you feel silly that so much detail and power comes from such small speakers. Pure enjoyment. I continue with another production, 70s blues, a 60s jazz on vinyl. In the first one, you feel like you are in the studio while the band "dirty" jams and records live. This downside to so much detail will be spoiled by poorly produced tracks. Coltrane and his quintet on a 180-gram vinyl, I shiver as I hear the finger squeaks on the double bass. I lie down to sleep with a CD by Anathema, from their recent works, famous for their aerial sound, accompanied by an orchestra. It is impossible to close my eyes because the sound is so lively that it makes me feel like I'm flying... In short, I think that the Dali Spektor 2 speakers work much more impressively with a good CD source. The turntable takes a step back without being bad, but an old worn-out vinyl might disappoint you because the speaker reproduces it perfectly, down to the last cent invested in the production, in the master, and even the last speck of dust in the grooves, especially with a good turntable. A new, clean 180-gram vinyl will paint a picture on the Dalis. With these speakers, I can confidently say that they are the best 200 euros of your audiofile life. There is no chance of finding a better speaker for this price. Simply stunning...

What can you say about these speakers? No one needs to look any further than the reviews on the internet and the various awards they have received. Their low price (partly due to their manufacturing in China) does not in any way correspond to the high sound performance that can only be compared to speakers that cost multiple times more. They are highly recommended.

Update after three months of testing, listening, and comparing with other speakers.
1) You need an amplifier of at least 2 x 50 rms and ideally above 2 x 70. Otherwise, they don't seem to have any specific requirements for amplifier type or extensive placement search, apart from the basics.
2) They are one of those speakers that really need several hours of breaking in, and I prefer them without the grille, just like most speakers.
3) Because they are very small, our visual perception prevents us from realizing how "big" of a sound they produce: wide and three-dimensional stage, tight bass, precise midrange, sweet highs that don't hurt the ears, as analytical as necessary to avoid fatigue during long listening sessions. Close your eyes or turn off the lights, and the experience is elevated.
4) The bass they produce is very impressive considering their size. However, if you are a lover of excessive bass, a perfectionist, live in a detached house, or have a placement room larger than 25-30 square meters, you should add a subwoofer, but definitely spend more than 400-500 euros; otherwise, you will ruin the sound. With careful placement and adjustment of a good subwoofer, the overall sound result in real-world conditions (not studio) is almost always better than a pair of floorstanding speakers that cost multiple times more.

My room is 5.5 x 5.5 meters (30 sqm), with very good listening conditions, a distance of 4.5 meters from the listener, and 2 meters between the speakers (ideally it would be 3 meters), without convergence, slightly below ear level but with a slight upward tilt, 30 inches from the back wall, in the middle of one dimension. The electronics are mid-range Yamaha products, and the music comes from CDs and Spotify Premium.

Although for my taste, the bass was more than enough, except maybe for classical music, I added the very good value-for-money Yamaha 300 subwoofer (400€) after some research, mainly for movies because I have the amplifier connected to the television in a 2 + 1 system. The subwoofer is usually turned off for music.

Compared to my previous floorstanding speakers from a well-known English company that cost a thousand euros and were sold immediately after purchasing the Dali speakers, my room now booms with low frequencies. In a listening session with two friends who are audio enthusiasts and owners of speakers worth 1500 and 2500 euros (and corresponding electronics), we agreed that my system is not inferior (although in a different room than theirs) and in many cases surpasses theirs.!!!!!

If you use high-quality sources and not low-quality mp3 files, you will be amazed by these speakers. The sound quality is no joke. I have never had hi-fi labeled speakers before, so I don't have a point of comparison for this type of speakers, but I have had quality Jamo speakers, also Danish surround speakers with a woofer, and the difference in quality is huge. You truly enjoy listening to music. I don't even use the woofer for music, not because the speakers have too much bass, on the contrary, they have almost non-existent bass (for someone who is used to listening with a woofer), but the bass from the woofer simply ruins the quality of the music to a great extent. I bought these speakers with the idea that it's good for a small cabinet to not have bass (as I had read from reviews), because it's logical that the midrange would suffer, and I had thought about pairing it with the woofer. As soon as I set up the speakers and unleashed their potential, I realized that I would never need the woofer for music. I have a Yamaha S-501 amplifier and it's just idling. It took about a week for my ear to adjust to the new sound characteristics, especially due to the lack of bass. Now, I wouldn't change them. Just respect!!! These speakers have won consecutive awards from magazines, and not without reason. I hope I helped...

First impressions and maybe I'll add something in the future.
First of all, I got it on sale (which appears every now and then) for 178 euros, only 2 days (weekend) I have listened to it and obviously it is smooth and tight.
Also, before I continue, keep in mind that it has low sensitivity (84.5 db) and I don't know how easy it is to drive (it may not be difficult but I don't know and it has a nominal impedance of 6 Ohms). With the amplifier I have, these things don't concern me because it has plenty of watts and can deliver a lot of power.
A few formal words at the beginning before we get to the essence.
The first thing that impresses you about such a small speaker is the bass.
Then, the volume, not only of the orchestra in general, but also individually of the various instruments and the vocals (which stops probably where it should, so as not to become unnaturally excessive).
In the midrange, I forgot to mention specifically that it is one of the strengths of the speaker and perhaps the most responsible for how it communicates music to the listener, and I forgot maybe because you immediately understand that it is excellent and beyond any criticism, without causing any fatigue, and you move on to the next characteristics of the sound.
The highs are very sweet and will soften even difficult situations, someone could want them to be "sharper" which happens to some extent if you remove the covers so they really come alive (and gain more transparency and detail), but as I said, it is still early (but I have the feeling that it is a choice of the manufacturer not to harden and cause any discomfort).
Another thing that you feel right away is that the music sounds faster because the sound of the speaker seems truly glued to the music and is not dragged by it trying to follow it.
Also, the coherence of the sound is such that you would swear that there are not two speakers and a crossover, but a full range.
All these are the cold descriptive elements of the speaker to move on to the essence now.
The character of the speaker is to deliberately hide the resolution and detail (elements that are implied to exist, but after a while of listening, it becomes difficult to focus on them because there are other things that almost monopolize your interest) and emphasize the musicality and emotion, so the sound of other speakers may sound clinical and cold in comparison.
The speaker has something magical in its sound that makes you stop dealing with the subject of hi-fi elements and just listen.
When an instrument suddenly enters the orchestra, you unconsciously look trying to see the musician handling it, when you hear the singer's voice, you have the feeling of his natural presence and you feel like getting up and patting him on the shoulder friendly (and if he suffers, you suffer with him).
The speaker doesn't keep any distance from you, it captivates you, you surrender unconditionally and identify with it. It's not just an object that does its job well, but it has a living entity, it's your friend, your companion.
Eight words could describe it succinctly.
Infinite musicality, unique sound color, infinite warmth, tremendous emotion.
You can't develop a relationship with it based on distant appreciation and admiration, but one of love, affection, and adoration.
The emotional element of music is in front of anything else.
You don't realize when the record you're listening to ends, having been lost in its sound. It goes beyond simple sound reproduction and what you hear is like a physical presence that captivates you mentally. The connection with the music, the band, the musicians, the singer, and what they do is immediate.
Why talk about hi-fi details? It doesn't make sense. And it's still completely effortless! I wonder if I should write something more when it settles (but also what else awaits me after the initial shock, when the speakers and the speakers produce the final sound they can give, which will obviously be much more liberated, analytical, extensive, and clear).
10/12/18 - It settles and improves constantly without losing its captivating character, but it seems that one must definitely listen to it without the covers, which create a slight hollow phenomenon that increases the volume of various sounds, rounding them and not allowing the highs to stand out (without the covers, highs and midrange have a more vibrant presence and nerve, and not that extra sweetness and somewhat timid presence I mentioned at the beginning). It is an alternative to listen with the covers (someone may like it, regardless of the fact that it loses information), but without them, as it almost always happens with speakers, the sound truly liberates. In any case, whoever appreciates the midrange and the sound that is a bit brighter and has color and emotion, it's difficult to find something similar. And foreign magazines consider it top-notch, and it is. You communicate with the music. Definitely my favorite speaker now, with the Eltax Monitor III as a close second (because it also had a directness that distracted you from the subject of hi-fi elements and made you pay attention to the music).
17/12/18 - Last mention of the speaker whether the break-in process has been completed or not. It doesn't make sense anymore to write more because it's unbeatable.
The resolution and clarity have reached another level, the soundstage has expanded tremendously, the instruments have a solid presence, the high frequencies now have a different liveliness and transparency with or without the covers, the drums have detached themselves from the rest of the music and have their own specific live presence and definition, the speaker's connection with the rhythm of the music, as I have already mentioned, is a given and ultimately becomes a "come and see" experience.
Something is not right in the whole equation, this music cannot come out of these boxes, surely there is an invisible orchestra in front of you and the speakers are just there to deceive you that the sound supposedly comes from them. It can't be explained otherwise.
Do yourself a favor and trust them.
I rediscover my record collection from the beginning and I am completely out of the observer position on how the various pieces of my stereo system play, but I simply listen to music as if there is nothing else around me, and I even listen from the beginning to the end of albums that I never sat down to listen to in their entirety, because now I understand them and truly feel them and I can't interrupt what is happening in front of me at that moment.
19/12/18 - I will not write anything else anymore, for sure, I promise. Simply, the hi-fi elements of the speakers (for those who had doubts) have reached a very high level (the break-in transformed them).
They are crystal clear, detailed, with nerve, rhythmic, completely three-dimensional and disappear into the space, and all this beyond their undeniable superiority in sound color and passion.
There is no longer any possibility for anyone to express any complaint in any area about these speakers.
The only thing one has to do is to buy them without a second thought.
For many, many years now, something was not right for me in the matter of speakers, something was always missing, but, as you can understand from my evaluation, this issue is now over, once and for all.
