The Audient ASP800 is a professional 8-channel analogue microphone preamp with a built-in high-resolution 24-bit/192kHz Burr-Brown A/D (Analog-to-Digital) converter. It features the classic Class-A preamp circuitry found in Audient’s analogue consoles, delivering clean 60dB gain and exceptionally low noise levels. Channels 1 and 2 feature the innovative COLOR analogue saturation system, with H80 (MOSFET Harmonics) and IRON (Transformer Drive) settings for adding vintage analogue character. It also includes two JFET DI instrument inputs, as well as ADAT digital outputs with S/MUX support for direct connection to audio interfaces and recording systems.

Class-A Analog Preamplifiers & JFET DI Inputs
The Audient ASP800 is equipped with 8 independent Class-A analogue preamps, based on the design philosophy of the iconic ASP8024-HE console. They provide up to +60dB of gain, an extended frequency range from 10Hz to 100kHz, and a low noise floor (EIN <-127.5dBu). The front panel features 2 discrete JFET DI inputs (Discrete Class-A JFET) for directly connecting an electric guitar, bass, or synthesizer, delivering the feel and harmonic response of a tube amplifier input.
HEDD Analog Saturation Technology (IRON & RETRO)
Channels 1 and 2 of the ASP800 feature the unique COLOR analog processing technology. The H80 control uses MOSFET circuitry to produce second-order harmonics (2nd harmonic), adding a warm, rich vintage character. Meanwhile, the IRON control uses a custom Drive transformer combined with MOSFET circuitry to produce third-order harmonics (3rd harmonic), enhancing presence, punch, and the sense of weight in the low and mid frequencies.
Burr-Brown 96 kHz A/D Converters & Digital Connectivity
The analog signal is digitized using Burr-Brown A/D converters with 24-bit / 192kHz resolution and exceptionally low jitter. The digital signal is output through dual ADAT optical ports (with S/MUX support for high sampling rates), allowing all 8 channels to be transmitted simultaneously to compatible audio interfaces. Synchronization with the rest of the studio is achieved via a BNC Word Clock input.
DB25 Analog Output & Sturdy 1U Rackmount Chassis
In addition to its digital outputs, the ASP800 features an 8-channel analogue line output via a multipin DB25 (Tascam Standard) connection, allowing it to be used as a standalone analogue preamp connected to analogue consoles or tape recorders. The unit is built into a sturdy 1U 19" rackmount metal chassis, with metal control knobs and an integrated power supply.
