The Aesthetic Anthology by Giannis Tzavara draws passages from ancient Greek to modern global thought that reflect on beauty and art.
The selected texts are presented in their original languages (Ancient Greek, Latin, English, German, French) and in modern Greek translation. This makes evident the often untranslatable nature of the original, the key words of the author, and the critical or possibly unsuccessful formulation of the idea.
The goal of the Anthology is educational. The reader is invited to practice what has been characterized as 'reading as art', the main feature of which is the rethinking. Such reading is done alone, but even better in groups and especially under the guidance of a teacher.
