Description

Jameson Black Barrel is a blend of small batch grain whiskey matured in a combination of American oak, sherry, and bourbon barrels. Fruity with a rich nose of tropical fruit, coconut, and cereals. Dense and full taste on the palate, with intense, creamy texture and walnuts. Long finish with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Why Jameson Black Barrel is Your Premium Choice:

  • Double Charring: The Bourbon barrels are charred twice, releasing extra layers of sweet caramel, vanilla, and toasted wood that make the blend irresistible.
  • Small Batch Grain Whiskey: Uses a rare batch of grains that is distilled only once a year, giving Black Barrel a unique "oiliness" and depth.
  • The Smoothness of Triple Distillation: Despite its intensity, it retains the characteristic Irish smoothness, making it extremely easy to drink despite its complexity.
  • Triple Cask Maturation: Maturation in a combination of American oak, Sherry casks, and double-charred Bourbon barrels creates a flavor palette that never ceases to surprise.

Your Flavorful Journey:

  • Nose: Rich and exotic. Aromas of tropical fruits (coconut, mango) blend with notes of butterscotch and cereals.
  • Palate: Dense and creamy. An explosion of vanilla, nuts, and toasted wood, with an almost "honeyed" texture that embraces the palate.
  • Finish: Long and rich. The finish leaves a warm sensation of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ripe fruits.

I had stopped drinking whiskey for quite a few years, but the Black Barrel made me start again.
Strong flavor, slightly sweet, just the way I like it, and with a little water it brings out all its aromas. Excellent! VFM

I got it today after reading the good reviews and they are not wrong. I found the package with the 2 glasses and tried it with one ice cube, left it for 5 minutes.

    Impressions:
Nice, smooth whiskey with just about the right amount of burn in the throat and a nice velvety taste. Easy to drink, it reminds me of bourbon, with aromas of caramel, coconut, and a bit of smokiness.

Aftertaste is good and almost zero alcohol sensation. An honest choice

At first I tried it neat as I always do with all whiskies and it gave me aromas of honey, cinnamon, smoked wood, and vanilla. It has a good balance of flavors and is pleasantly drinkable. Then I added a little water and it released all the aromas, which is the desired effect. I would rate it in quality between blended whisky and malt, better than a standard blended and a bit below a malt (not premium). It is an honest Irish whiskey that offers more than enough quality for what you pay! In one word, I would describe it as sweetly smoky! Enjoy, and always remember: DO NOT drink and drive, thank you.

With the years, tastes change. After Dimple, Chivas (12-year-old and extra), Jack Daniels (regular, Gentleman, and single barrel), I tried the regular Jameson, Stout, and now Black Barrel. I prefer both Stout and Black Barrel either with a little cold water or with a small piece of ice, as it helps to enhance their aromas.

I expected it to be easier to use. At first, it seemed a bit strong (according to my own criteria, of course). Once the ice melted a bit, it released its flavors. That's when I appreciated it differently. It's actually very good.

As a long-time lover of the simple Jameson, when I tried the Black Barrel, I simply went crazy. I think it has become my whiskey now. To enjoy it, I suggest taking shots and drinking it slowly.

Although it has a balanced flavor between wood and a hint of tobacco, it is nothing special. It has a flat body without complexity and an imperceptible aftertaste. It is harsh and leaves a strong burning sensation in the throat. It is worth trying, but I don't think I would choose it again.

From the best value for money. I tried it yesterday and I must admit that I didn't expect it to be so good for 30€. Personally, what stood out to me the most was the chocolate, the pepper, and I think a little bit of smoke. Overall, it has a somewhat strong flavor but it can be consumed without water or ice. Excellent for whiskey gatherings.

A very good whiskey. I would say it is above average in all aspects (aroma, taste, aftertaste). If I'm not mistaken, it reminds me a little of Jack Daniels gentleman. Its price is worth it.
I'm coming back after about a year to change my rating to 4 stars.
This whiskey, on the other hand, when you open it, has lost its aromas, something that happens from the 6th month since I opened it. No comparison to the jd gentleman, which I have had open for about a year and it still has all its aroma. It's a shame because objectively it is a nice whiskey.

One of the several Irish whiskies available on the market. Personally, I find it strongly reminiscent of a classic bourbon, perhaps due to the barrels used for this particular drink. It leaves a smooth, sweet taste in the mouth, and I consider its aroma to be more complex and intense than the classic Jameson. Having beginner skills in the world of whiskey, I think it was very tasty and easy to drink, and I would buy it again. Obviously, there may be other better options out there, but I believe it's worth spending a little extra to try this one.

I think it is the best thing available in a special edition. Similarly to others in its category (e.g. Chivas 12, Johnnie 12), it falls behind by a lot. I believe fans of Jameson have loved it. It's a dream to try the 18-year-old version, but I find it to be over 150 euros

Very smooth to the point that you don't believe it's whiskey but some other kind of alcoholic liqueur. I think it's too sweet for my taste, so I would recommend the cheaper stout cask Jameson, which has all the above qualities but you feel more like you're drinking whiskey.

In its category, it is very good and for its price
(even though with an extra €10 you can get something superior)
Balance in aroma and flavor.. quite strong aroma (tobacco), hence the barrels it has also dedicated some time to, sweet vanilla aroma on the palate and throat, pleasant aftertaste, easy to drink.

Very nice taste and aroma in the glass. Sweeter than the regular one and for my taste, I would say it is very easy to drink. It reminds me of Bourbon in its taste, something that doesn't bother me at all because there is also the aroma of wood. I really like that I found it in a package with 2 glasses as a gift at a very good price. For those who enjoy Jameson, it is definitely worth a try!

Special and balanced, but somewhat weak in taste. Aged in ex-sherry and charred ex-bourbon barrels, consisting of grain and single pot still, it is not the classic Irish or Scotch whiskey. The nose and flavor profile are closer to bourbon with a peppery finish and a sweet hint of smoke. It's worth the money and is a quite interesting choice.

The price of it is expensive and overall I am not of the opinion to spend more than 35 euros for a blended. With the black barrel, you forget what you know from the regular Jameson, with a more intense flavor, not spicy of course but sweet and balanced. It is distinct and does not resemble any of the other blended whiskies from Scotland.

Very smooth to the point that you don't believe it's whiskey but some other kind of alcoholic liqueur. I think it's too sweet for my taste, so I would recommend the cheaper stout cask Jameson, which has all the above qualities but you feel more like you're drinking whiskey.

It doesn't leave any weird taste like a cheap one like Grants, etc.
Very nice, you drink it straight, it doesn't even need ice cubes

Powerful whiskey with depth in flavor and easy to drink, it leaves a sense of maturity due to its production, not like Johny Blue but in a lighter form.. for the money, a very good choice!!!!!!

  • I had stopped drinking whiskey for quite a few years, but the Black Barrel made me start again.
Strong flavor, slightly sweet, just the way I like it, and with a little water it brings out all its aromas. Excellent! VFM

  • I got it today after reading the good reviews and they are not wrong.

  • excellent ... you pour it into the glass with just a little ice, let it sit for a moment and it releases its aromas, for me who is not into very dry and smoky, it is excellent.
