The go-to cutter for cables, tie-wraps, and bundling, etc. Its mission is to cut cables that fit comfortably between its blades and to cut them vertically and accurately. I bought my first one in 1980 from Katoymas!!! and it broke 40 years later!!! in the hands of a handyman who used it for tasks it wasn't designed for. After my shock, I admit I had painted them black because no other cutter was as good, reliable, lightweight, and convenient as this one. I had and still have KNIPEX and FACOM, all vintage and of good quality, but none were like the Piergiacomi TR-30, which cost 1/5 to 1/8 of the money the others asked for. After 40 years, I didn't even know what brand it was because the letters had faded due to use, and since it worked perfectly, I never bothered to find something else. As an example, my FACOM and KNIPEX are like new because I didn't use them as much as I had the Piergiacomi! In my desperation, I eventually used a blue light and was able to distinguish some letters, and then Google filled in the rest, and through the images, I recognized the model and voila!!! Success at last!! I never expected that a cutter from an Italian company would still be produced 45 years later!!! The handles have changed a bit (thicker now and with two colors) and the quality of sharpening and blade alignment is not as good as the vintage ones, but man, for the money, it's the best value for money with the next one miles behind!! Comparatively, the old one (45 years ago) was quite expensive. I don't remember how much I bought it for, but I remember saving up to buy it when I was still in school, even if it had the equivalent of 10 euros, which is 3,500 drachmas, which is 1/5 of the basic salary back then, which was 19,000 drachmas! The Piergiacomi TR-30 is the best diagonal cutter I have used for 45 years now! And it costs a fraction of what FACOM and KNIPEX ask for. There is also the TR-30A variation, which has an extra blade to hold either the fibers of the cable or the cut cable so that they don't fly away and you don't waste time cleaning up. This blade works perfectly up to G1.5mm, and the most important thing is that it doesn't limit your vision where you cut. Using it, one cannot help but love it!
