    It is plastic. The microphone is big and good, also detachable. The cable is plastic and if you hit it, you can hear a thud inside the headphone. The ear cushions have "broken", they are very thin and the plastic protrudes, causing the ears to be pressed and hurt after a while. The covering on the headband has worn out. Despite the ear cushions on the headband, after a while it starts to bother you. I have been using them for 20 months.
