Description

Description

80 Plus Gold Certification

The FOCUS PLUS Gold Series achieves 80 PLUS Gold certification with 90% efficiency at 50% system load.

Fan Button

The fan control button is located at the back of the power supply, next to the power switch. The image here shows how you can select different fan control modes that suit your needs.

Fluid dynamic bearing fan

Your PC will have great durability over time thanks to the high-efficiency fluid dynamic bearing fan, which manages to keep noise and heat levels low compared to ball bearing fans. The lubrication of the bearing surface reduces friction and vibration, thereby reducing overall energy consumption. Thanks to the smooth and quiet rotations of the fan and its robust construction, the fan's lifespan is quite long, reaching up to 50,000 hours at 40°C.

Wireless Setup

The engineers at Seasonic implemented a new design feature where instead of cables, the back and the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) are connected with a copper plate. This innovative solution not only reduces the likelihood of production errors during manual placement but also improves the quality of the power output.

Loads

  • Operating Voltage: 100-240V

Maximum Load:

  • Line Current +3.3 V: 25A
  • Line Current +5 V: 25A
  • Line Current +12 V: 83A
  • Line Current -12 V: 0.3A
  • Line Current +5 Vsb: 3A

System Protection

The Seasonic Focus Plus protects your PC from over-power (OPP), over-voltage (OVP), under-voltage (UVP), over-current (OCP), over-temperature (OTP), and short-circuit (SCP).

Connections

  • 1x ATX 20 + 4-pin motherboard power connector.
  • 2x EPS/ATX12V 8 Pin (4+4) CPU power connectors
  • 3x PCIe 6+2 graphics card power connectors, to take advantage of modern GPUs in combination with your PC's capabilities
  • 6x SATA power connectors for SSD or HDD hard drives
  • 3x 4-pin Molex connectors for connecting additional peripherals
  • 1x 4-pin floppy connector for connecting a floppy disk drive or card reader

Very good power supply. It meets the needs of an above-average user. For some, it may be an issue that the cables are loose and not enclosed in a protective shell. Finally, although it has nothing to do with the product itself, while the description states Black, I received White. After contacting the store (the purchase was made through e-gate), they informed me that it is not available in black.

Owner of this specific power supply since 01/19, flawless. Purchased from Germany for 120 euros, worth every minute. Unlike previous Corsair ones that I had and troubled me, I have forgotten that this one exists.

I bought this power supply this year (2019) to upgrade my computer and I am absolutely satisfied with its performance and construction. Personally, a focus 650w gold would have been enough for me, but the price difference with the focus 850w gold was so small that it wasn't worth the purchase, especially since it has a 10-year warranty and I'm sure I'll have it for my next upgrade. If you only have one graphics card, then the 850w gold is more than enough for any system.

Also, two features that I found valuable are the button that activates the fan only when the temperature reaches above 60 degrees and secondly, it includes an additional 4 + 6pin cable for the 2019 X570 and Z390 motherboards for overclocking.

The only issue that bothered me was the cables, which have excessive insulation, making them inflexible. My case has less than 3 centimeters of space for cable management, so I had to struggle with them, especially at the connections. So, four stars.
