Hiking map of Skyros at a scale of 1:48,000. More exposed to the currents of the Aegean than to those that swept through popular culture, Skyros is like an ark. In fact, in addition to needlework, wood carving, pottery, metallurgy, and the unique design and decoration of homes, Skyros has also preserved a rare breed of small horses that graze on the desolate mountain slopes.
The island is divided into two sections: the rugged and uninhabited Mountain in the south and the gentle and wooded Meroli in the north. There are paths in both areas: those of Meroli cross wooded or cultivated expanses and lead to chapels or beautiful beaches, while those of the Mountain traverse wild landscapes with stunning views.
The new edition of the map features 6 hiking routes, for which Anavasi has conducted the signage study, and signs are already being installed.
