A wonderful blended rum from the Guatemalan distillery Ron Botran. The rum is distilled from molasses and aged for at least 12 years in American oak barrels that were previously used for bourbon.
The result is a silky and complex rum with notes of vanilla, caramel, oak, and dried fruits. On the nose, it has delightful notes of fresh brown sugar, caramel, and syrup. Some oaky aromas emerge after a while in the glass.
The palate is dense, with a bit of coffee and chocolate and some notes of dried fruits. The finish is short and sweet with woody spices and brown sugar.
