First of all, I must say why I decided to buy this particular shaving brush. I had bought another brush many years ago. It is most likely also made of boar bristle.

Due to the appearance, they are very similar. With exactly the same, dual-color bristle design (yellow with black in the middle of the bristles).

However, over the years and with use, my old brush lost several bristles and I didn't like seeing it so worn out. From an aesthetic point of view, of course, even though it still does its job well.

I searched for weeks for a good, quality, and affordable brush on skroutz.gr. And I ended up with the Omega 11574, because it is economical, its construction seems worth it, and I really liked its shape, the plastic material of its base, and its black color with a hint of orange.

I wanted to get a modern brush with boar bristles that has a fairly large base. So that I can hold it comfortably with my large hands.

Omega is an Italian company that manufactures many quality products. I knew them from their very expensive watches. Of course, I have never spent nor had so much money for such expensive watches. But, I think that despite their exorbitant cost, they are beautiful and have good internal mechanisms.

When I learned that Omega manufactures many designs and types of shaving brushes, I chose mine based on ergonomics, size, good appearance, and low price.

You should know that boar brushes are the most economical. Compared to expensive badger or synthetic ones. However, despite their reduced cost, they are very sturdy, durable, and do not require much maintenance.

The Omega 11574 seems, at first glance, quite sturdy and durable. Its black base is made of very lightweight plastic and is not transparent. Therefore, the whole product is very lightweight.

When I wet the brush for the first time, it immediately gave off a strong and somewhat unpleasant boar smell. But they say that this only happens if you haven't used it at all. Those who know say that if you shave with a boar brush 2-3 times, this bad smell completely disappears. I have shaved once and the smell has indeed significantly decreased. So, I imagine that if I shave 2-3 more times, it won't smell at all anymore.

Review update: Saturday, June 27, 2020. Since I bought and started using the brush, it has lost around 8-10 bristles and I take care of it quite well. I dry it as much as I can on a special plastic base. I don't mishandle it.

I don't like the fact that it has already lost some bristles. Let's see how long it will ultimately last before I need a new one. However, for its price, it's not bad at all.

Its final reliability and whether it will become too worn out over time will be seen in the future. However, it inspires confidence in me as a good product. I recommend it in general. Enjoy it!

Positive:

• It is very lightweight.
• Very beautiful design in a modern black color.
• It is sturdy and durable.
• Low price.

Negative:

• It lost some bristles in less than a month of use.
