Born in Asia Minor, in 1924, in Farasa of Cappadocia, to parents with many children. The name Arsenios Eznepidis was given to him by Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian, who also baptized him.

During the time of persecutions and exile, the family left for Greece. They arrived in Corfu, where they stayed for two years, and then went to Konitsa. When Arsenios went to school, he did not hide his desire to become a monk.

Even the other villagers knew that he constantly read religious books, particularly about the lives of Saints and their miracles. He had even learned to write not only his name but also every miracle of his godfather, Saint Arsenios. For this reason, Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian had given his blessing to little Arsenios…
