The CERESIT CR90 Crystaliser is an elliptical sealing material of crystalline action, a combination of cement with mineral fillers and additional chemical compounds, used for sealing non-deformable substrates such as concrete, bricks, and cementitious surfaces.
It works in two ways - it forms a sealing layer on the surface of the substrates and additionally creates crystals in the pores of the substrate.
Water-insoluble salts penetrate the capillary structure of the concrete, where - through contact with water - they gradually form the crystals.
This process of crystal formation leads, over time, to the complete closure of the capillary channels, which ultimately prevents the transfer of water to and from the concrete.
Therefore, the application of the CR 90 crystalline sealing material can be considered as additional protection for the substrate and in the future, in case of local damage or breakage of the coating, as it remains inert in a dormant state and is activated by the presence of moisture.
Advantages:
- Sealing through crystalline action
- Resistance to positive and negative water pressure
- Seals cracks in the concrete structure up to 0.4 mm width
- Vapor-permeable and frost-resistant
- Compatible with sealing tapes
Recommended applications:
- For waterproofing
- Non-deformable concrete substrates in basements, balconies
- Sewage treatment plants, wells
- Water tanks (including drinking water tanks) with water depth up to 15m
- Firefighting tanks
- Small monolithic pools up to 20m²
- Can be applied from the positive (up to 15m) and negative (up to 5m) water pressure side
